Got a call from my buddy who asked if I wanted to do a relic hunt.....well, is the Pope Catholic? Of course I do. We went to a couple of different spots, had some good laughs and enjoyed the fall weather. I used the AT Gold 5 x 8 coil, he used the AT Pro 5x8 coil.

He got the 1957 dog tag, I managed to get the other two items. Hey......you never know when you might need a wall mounted bottle opener.

I dug up a couple of intact bullets out of a creek bed. The one is dated 1944.

My buddy dug up this awesome old 1858 Canadian Silver Dime. Edmonton didn't exist at that time, except for a fort. I pulled this Fiji coin.....a mystery as how it ended up here.

And the ring gods blessed me with a nice ring! What a spectacular day! Below is a pic I took the previous day.

Nice! I love river hunts. Is the ring junk metal?

Sounds like you had a great day, John. Interesting relics & coins - I'd head for Fiji in January to continue my "research". :detecting:

Really nice assortment of finds John. That dime is as rare as hens teeth out west here. I believe that the two plain lead ringed bullets are 45-75's for the Winchester lever action rifle.. I have dug hundreds at a mounted police site.

Something about a fall day with it's beauty of color that makes one pause for a moment, or lot's of them moments. I read somewhere about people that just love collecting dog tags, nice finds and sounds like a great day. HH

Nice finds and photos all around John. Thanks for sharing them with us. Don't get out much to hunt but greatly enjoy seeing the finds of fellow hobbyists.
