The Ace is sure different than my Scorpion!!

I got to borrow a friend's Ace 250 today. I hit one tot lot on the way home from work just to see what it would do. I only hunted about 20mins and this is what I found:

2 quarters (clad) at about 6 inches (this is what the display said also)
3 pennies just under the surface (the Ace isn't sure what to call a target that close to the coil it seems)
2 dimes (one rang off as dime at proper depth, the other as a penny at proper depth)
A SILVER RING! Don't remember what it registered as..I think it was a nickle.

My observations/comparisons:

The ACE needs to be swung WAAAY slower than the Scorpion
Recovery on the ACE is slower than the Scorpion (see above)
The ACE seems deeper than the Scorpion, but this is a preliminary observation. I do tend to get in a hurry and swing a little fast, which could be shortchanging the Scorpion..
The tones are a really cool part of the ACE
The display had me considering whether to dig or not..in the end I treated it as beep/dig just to see if what it was telling me was right. I'd say the display is right more than half the time when the targets are at a moderate depth and swing speed is slow.
If you swing too fast a target may be shown as something it's not.
Use pinpoint and your holes will be much smaller!! LOL...

Overall I really like the ACE! I'll have it for a few more days and plan to make full use of it.. I really want to see if that TID makes me lazy!

Alright!:super:WTG!:cheers:Congrats on the silver ring. Nice hunt! Yeah man, that Ace 250 is an incredible creation. My wife kicks my butt with it ALOT of the time. She's been swingin' for about 5 years' I've been swingin' for 20. I've been lucky on the past few hunts and got more clad than she did (me with my GTI 2500)., but nothin' better than clad here lately:nopity: That Ace is awesome, though. I love to swing it around sometimes. It is a coin magnet! But I love, love , love my Scorpion. Had it for a looooong time. Made some good finds over the years with it, including gold nuggets. Great for coin shootin', handles hot ground very well for nugget shootin' and relic huntin'. Great for the beach. However, you really can't compare it with the Ace. They are both GREAT machines in their own right. Nice goin' on the hunt, man Well done. You should buy yourself one of those little yeller fellers:angel: But don't give up the Scorp!
