For about 25 years I have been hunting a 100 year old + fairgrounds while vacationing up in Mn and alas, it really had become quote frugal in recent years. There, however, was one decent size piece of ground off to the side that a rodeo arena was nearby that I had only made a few token sash shays through and those had been quite un-productive. Upon arriving at the site one morning about mid way through the first week of the two weeks we were spending up there I noted that a local car dealer had set up on the fairgrounds with apparently his whole inventory of cars. Consequently, I decided, or more like was forced, to hunt around the rodeo area. And, in so doing, that is where the bulk of my old coins for my trip up there came from. One of the 1st targets I dug was the Reagan/Bush button and I must admit that I took that as a good sign. And, as fate would have it, it was. That particular outing I dug the 2 silver Washington quarters and 1 Mercury dime and a silver war nickel. In hunting the area off and on over the next several days it yielded several more silvers, about 2 dozen wheat cents, the 1906 I H, the 1928 (neat) Canada nickel, the 1940 German coin, a Sterling St Christopher medal, another war nickel and numerous other curios. That area has a fair amount of soil mineralization and the A T Pro handled it nicely. G B was around 90-92 all the time. I was able to hunt with wide open sen and did all the time in pro zero. Nothing was really all that deep, but there is no guessing when it hits a silver coin. Hope everyone is digging a few goodies. HH jim tn
