The 705 and I were right; This ring was not lost at the beach!!

In May of this year a vacationing couple from North Florida asked me if I would try to find a ring that was possibly lost while they were at the beach...although they were not really sure if it was lost there, It was one of the most likely places. I went out there the day after they called and gridded the area they mentioned, but no ring was found. Since they were already back home I took some
pictures and later that night went over the hunted area with them by phone.

With a little more information I went back the next day and hunted the area and pathway to the beach again, but like the day before no ring was found. In a phone call later that night I told them that I was 99% positive the ring was not there.....With their hopes dashed and sadness in their voice they thanked me for my effort and said good bye.

But this is not the end of the story!Forward ahead 6 months to this afternoon;.....
While cleaning out and detailing their SUV in preparation to sell, the ring was found...and I quote," in a deep dark creavous under the passenger seat". I could not be more happy for them and do not consider hunting for the ring a waste of time, but a reassurance to my abilities when using the XT705!!! GL ALL

:clapping: Excellent Bob!

Funny how you can end up feeling good about what you didn't find.

That is pretty good there. We become great friends with our detectors.

Nice ending either way!

Wow, what a cool story with a great twist. You must really pay attention to your detailing for some would have probably just stuck a big vacuum hose on that spot and sucked away.

Great way to end a story on an uplifting note.

by the way, you are a great story teller, and writer.
