The 5x8 coil

Well-known member
Just got one early this summer. Think it's going to cause my trusty Ace 250 to be moth balled. Never once since owning it have I been sorry I got it. Even wading, it's excellent. (Fresh water) Today I hunted one of my hot parks, around the sides of a basketball court. Now I hunted same area this past spring with the stock coil. Well this area is good for 2 hunts a year. This time about 3 hours, 104 coins, 35 of which were Nickels. Quite a few of these nickels must have been missed during the spring hunt. The little coil of course can get closer to the fence & concrete. Many times didn't have to pinpoint. Now didn't pull any gold this hunt but it has scored two gold rings out of the water. I hunt the Pro along with the Infinium, and together they are deadly.

That 5" x 8" coil is a killer. I have heard nothing but great comments from those who have purchased one on all the forums I have seen.

I've found more with it in a few months than I thought possible before I got this coil. Including a nice gold ring.

Going on # 47 on gold ring, and going on # 52 on silver ring and its all because of that bad boy 5x8.......since 7/28/13

The 5x8 in my opinion is the best damn thing to happen since sliced bread! That my friends is an understatement. It is super killer and sensitive on tiny objects. The AT Pro is already light enough as it is, but put that 5x8 coil on and you're hunting for 12 hours without skipping a beat. I've been rocking that small coil all year and it consistently produces good finds, especially in trashy areas. If you know me, the trashier the site, the better! Just the other day I dug a questionable iffy signal in the park. I ended up pulling a buffalo nickel at 10". 10 freakin inches! Sure it didn't have a consistent ID, but the tone was good enough for me to investigate and the fact that it produced a chirp at all for a target of that size and at that depth, shocked the crap outta me.

Garrett hit a home run with this coil, I have nothing but good things to say about it. The only time I take the coil off is if I'm hitting a relatively quiet farm field that's been hunted to death for decades. HH!
