...The little patch of woods Ive been hitting lately gave up a bit more today. This is still the old airbase/jail site that Ive been working after well, work! As I've said before, it seems to be a big penny bank and that's what Ive been calling it. Today was no different. I found 8 cents and a lone clad dime in about 50 minutes of sampling - I say sampling as I'm still getting a feel for the site.
While 8 cents doesn't sound like much when compared to, say, Johns finds, 3 of the cents were keepers:
1- 1905 IH
1- 1909 Lincoln (not an "S" VDB )
1- 1913 Lincoln
SO far, that is an even half dozen older cents, which puts me smack dab in line for some silver, as the average ratio is about 6:1. Headin back tomorrow!
