Redsumit,

I'am in no way an expert and I'm SURE you've read and reread Andy Sabich's book. Have you sent the machine back to Minelab? You may very well have a bad one.

i have no idea how i would tell if theres something wrong, and id have 2 know that b4 i send it off 2 get it looked at. cant afford it rite now. all i know is its pi$$in me off.

Is there someone you know who uses a Quattro that you could go out with, and check it out for you? Most dealers I've spoken to here may sell the machine, and try it out, but don't really understand the nuances of it. Just a thought. On my last beach outing, my hubby was having trouble with his Explorer. Seems whatever he did with it, he kept getting falsing or irratica signals at the most unlikely times. And he knows his machine inside out, so maybe there's something wrong with it too!:shrug:Guess he'll have to send it in also. But get someone to check out your Quattro first, that uses one.
