Cabin fever is taken it toll up here. I just had to go out and swing that "ACE", my winter machine tonite. The temp was at about -15C/5F with a light humid breeze. I had the wool sock over the ACE with a nice hot pack tucked in underneath to keep the batteries toasty and the screen from slowing down. Tonite I tracked the depth I was getting with the ACE using the large coil in the snow. My best, deepest "digs" were as follows:
1) A clad dime at 9 inches, with a strong repeatable signal.
2) A penny at 10 inches, again with a repeatable signal.
That is with a matrix of snow....very dry snow! I find that simply incredible. I am going to try an experiment in my test garden later on this spring. I will test my targets with the large 9" x 12" coil on the ACE 250, then litterly drench my test garden with water, wait a while for the soil to get saturated, then do a comparison test again, to see if/how much difference in depth readings I will get. The readings I got today in depth are just incredible for such a inexpensive machine. There are some machines costing over 2 x as much as the ACE that can't pull dimes out at that depth.

Here are my totals.......I hunted 3 different snow hills tonite and got 35 coins, which was just under $6.00. I also lucked out on a Hong Kong 10 Cent coin.
