Hey, just a note to thank you guys for the discussion, even though it was a misunderstanding. I have a Silver umax and I added a switch similar to the one on the late Troy detector(coin check) It in essence turned my Silver into a Tejon without the GB feature. Now I didn't have the proper resistor ( the long one with the adjustable screw to set the disc level),so I soldered a hundred ohm fixed with a variable 50 ohm ( I had calculated by the position on the disc dial that tabs were in around 120-150 ohms). Since I didn't have to solder directly to the board, I felt relatively safe in doing this. Still, I used heat shields just to allow for my inexperience. The point is this: I am a slave to ID and I think I must have the Golden as I want a detector that I can unfold and place on my bicycle and carry w/me and yet have every option necessary in case I run into a trashy site. Thru all ya'lls posts, I learned how to do it, the correct settings and how to adjust the tones and with what objects to use to adjust them. It all turned out for the good. And I guess I'll just keep my slightly altered Silver.

You are welcome. Steve.

Well, my computer had it's senior moments. I have the slo-mo dial up and the last couple of days have been having trouble. But I finally got it and sent it off. Thanks. And from the PM you will see another of MY senior moments!

Wireless just became available up here in my boon docks and it is so much faster and believe it or not it is cheaper than my old dial with a second phone line was. Check & see if it is available in your area. I was paying $30.00/month for a second phone line and $13.95/month for my isp Total $43.95/month Now I pay $17.95/month and am always connected without tieing up our phone line. I got your email message slingshot, thanks. Steve.
