Thanks to :garrett:"Goose" for a productive 2011!

I started :detecting: in the spring of 2008. Got a grand total of 9 silvers that first year. 33 in 2009. 95 in 2010.

My silver count was in the 30's when I got the AT Pro at the end of May. With the exception of about 2 1/2 weeks when the pinpoint button went out and I also got the upgrade, all hunting done from June on was with the AT Pro. Wound up with 159 silvers for 2011. I found 'em, but I couldn't have done it without Goose. Yep, I'm one of those dorks that names his detectors...all after kids in the family.

Anyway a big thank you to :garrett:Garrett for this excellent :thumbup:detector and the fine service, the AT is without a doubt my favorite and most productive detector so far. Also thanks for "Snoots," the amazing Pro-Pointer which revolutionized pinpointing when it came out back in 2008.

The pictures are from my last few weekend hunts.

The two mercs 1943-S and 1943 were from 12/31 and they were my last silvers of the year.

The two 1942 quarters were in the same hole on top of each other, slightly offset.

The gold ring was the first gold I've found in some time since I am what Mike Hillis would call an accidental gold finder. 10K, about five inches deep, and it bounced from the mid 50's to low 60's.

Found a couple cool old turn-of-the-century tokens, I'll post pictures after their olive oil bath.

The silver ring is a small sterling ring that I glued back together. It's the second silver ring that the one who must be obeyed :inlove: has cracked with overly aggressive cleaning. I should know better than to hand her thin silver, but I can't help it. She could care less about coins, tokens or relics, but gets really excited when I find a nice ring or piece of jewelry. Not sure why, I haven't given her any of them...maybe that's the problem!

Here's hoping that all my friends on the forum have a happy and healthy 2012 with loads of keepers!

You named your children Goose and Snoots?? Not that I can't believe that as I once dated a girl named Wookity, but how did you get your wife to agree with that??

Actually my kids nicknames are Gorgeous (my daughter) and Sonny (my son). Goose and Snoots are nicknames for two nephews. I'm kinda like George W, I designate the nicknames in the (extended) family and they usually stick.

The nephew who goes by Snoots always snooted with his nose as a baby so that's how he got that moniker. I wanted to nickname him Spanky because his grandfather's first cousin was Spanky McFarland of Our Gang/Little Rascals fame, but his dad was pretty adamant that his son not be nicknamed Spanky. I could understand that...
