I went to the locker yesterday and got the DeLeon out and put it together in a few minutes. One thing that amazes me about Tesoro is how simple it is. The hardest thing I had to do was decide what size coil I was going to use. I didn't have to read up on the machine or I didn't have to re watch a dvd to get to know it again. It is simple and works in very simple and effective ways. Good work Tesoro.... Z

I think that comment may have been meant as a "tongue in cheek" reference to all the other menu driven units out there.

No dvd for the DeLeon. I have had two other detectors with dvd's and pretty big manuals that come with the detectors. I usually take the dvd out and look at it again to get ready to go hunting in the spring. Sometimes I just don't remember what this is for or that is used for?? Not knocking it though I am glad I have the manual and the dvd because it helps a lot when I haven't seen the detector for months.

I took the DeLeon out of the box and it looked so strange, like it was a new detector with the poles all scratched up and control unit so small. The whole detector looked so small and light. I thought the Good Fairy of metal detectors had given me a different detector because I had been so good about all the snow this winter. I wiped it off and started to put it together and it took the shape of my DeLeon with many, many hours of use. I even put in the old batteries from last year and still had 5 bars on battery test. The strangeness left when I started detecting because the feel was there again in a matter of a few minutes. I guess I will always have a Tesoro as one of my detectors.

I have to go now and look at the DD for my other detector. To get ready to use it tomorrow. Z
