Damn good work there MrChile!! Wish I was closer to you....looks like you're having a ball there in the water. How are those nickels coming along? Best, Erik

One thing that I heard from my scuba diving instructor, waaaay back when, was that fishermen use spark plugs not as weights, but to help remove a snagged fish hook. They hook it over the fishing line, crimp the gap closed and let it slide down the line until it contacts the hook/weight on the end of the line. Then they whip the line up and down, which makes the spark plug impact with the hook which hopefully removes the snag, kinda like an impact wrench works for loosing stubborn nuts.

Of course there's always the good chance that it was indeed used as a weight, but this was the explanation I got when I asked why the bottom of the area we were diving was littered with spark plugs... apparently it doesn't always work, the line snaps, and the plug falls to the bottom.

Every plug that I found on the bottom did have it's gap mashed shut though, and no line tied to it... I just thought that I'd offer this as an 'alternate' explanation. :)

Nice finds on the silver!

My spanish and Latin are too rusty to figure out the message on the back but I'll check into it.

Nickel looks good....looks like 1923 for sure. I think a few more days in the Heinz will take off the remaining crud. You need to refresh the 'sup a couple of times.

Good job!
