I went last night for quick 2 hour hunt to a park I have hunted just once before and pulled these 2 wheaties, 53' rosie and this ring. The ring has a silversmith mark on it and it also reads TOWLE STERLING. It turns out that Towle Silver Company has been around since the 1600s, pretty cool. Anyways, I found the ring and the rosie using what I have picked up here on the forum "lurking" around. I have really learned a good amount from you guys just by reading a few post and just wanted to say thanks and show you all what I had found.

Thanks!
Danny

Sweet finds:thumbup:

Your silver ring looks like a Spoon Ring with that design that it has on it. Silver is always good, no matter what form it comes in.

Man that would be so cool if it were a spoon ring! I was just telling my buddy the other day that I really wanted to find me a spoon ring.
Thanks DJH!

Definitely a spoon ring, Danny!! I've got a few of those myself!

Congrats on finding some oldies....I'd go back....gotta be more hiding there!

Hi Dan,

Thanks man... that is way cool! We found this little park that I do not think many people have hunted if at all or maybe I'm just getting the deeper stuff?? I am surprised you haven't nailed this park yet with Leo! You and I have not met yet but I hope we can hunt together some day. I have heard a lot about you from Leo. I will be out with Leo on Sunday and Monday. I have hunted this park a total of maybe 3 hours and have pulled out 2 silver coins, 2 wheaties and that ring. I'm sure you know how tough it is out here in So Cal to pull stuff like that out of parks so easy. I'm heading back there tonight or tomorrow night for sure.

Take care
Danny

Yeah, I was wondering if I even knew you.....I think I know just about every Explorer hunter here in S. Cal. :detecting: Leo and I are good buddies!! I can't believe I haven't met you before...perhaps I've seen you in one of Leo's videos before?

Not sure of the park you're hunting.....I haven't been able to detect in a long time now....been about 10 months....still recovering from a painful/fatiguing muscle condition.

Good luck hunting with Leo. I'm sure some day we will meet up.

I use an E Trac but I am trying to find an Explorer II to have if I ever have to send in my E Trac in to MInelab. I was talking to Leo yesterday and he said he might know of a couple for me. Yeah, I have been in a few of his videos. I have never seen them but we did them. I did see the one with you guys at Irvine, you displayed all your silver for the year... YOU KILLED IT!!!

I live in O.C.. That park is in the O.C. and it is full of these little gang banger fools. Last night the cops were in their patrol car chasing some dude on his bike through the park as I was swinging. tripy. and it's not Santa Ana where the park is located. Did you ever get to hunt the "road" with Leo?

I truly hope you get better soon! I wish you all the best.
Danny

Very nice

Thanks, Danny!

I have found a good amount of silver in a few older parks in OC. Last year, all my attention was spent hunting old parks in LA county. Much more older coinage in that area.

I was invited to hunt the "old" road, but haven't been able to because of my condition.

Good Luck with the E-Trac!

Danny,

I'd see if I couldn't bend that sucker back, solder on a new "spoon" end and throw it in the silverware drawer....you could eat your cereal every morning with one of your finds! Not many people could brag about that.

Cool finds...congratulations!!!!

Hi NebTrac,

Well tell ya, a few months ago I found this very nice Gorham Sterling spoon in perfect condition at about 11 inches deep. The thing is really nice. I took it home, cleaned her up real nice like and had me a bowl of Honey nut Cheerios the next morning. Kind of nasty but cool.

Thanks!
