Hey Guys,
Thanks for the great info! I took the coil out of the X1 box, and then removed the upper shaft and cable from the control housing. After putting it all back together again, the XS worked great with no interference for the 5 minutes I was using it in my yard. Before taking it apart, I tried it in my coin garden and it was making the uh huh noises. After I took it apart and put it back together again, it ran great in the coin garden. Hopefully it will run great the rest of the day! You guys were right on the money with respect to the cable connections!
Thanks again,
Mike Unruh

Hey C.C.,
Yea, I see what you mean. We'll see what happens today when I use it for a couple of hours. If the connector is bad, I'll just send it in and get it fixed--no big deal.

Those connections become high resistance connections, especially if you were working in some damp or rainy weather recently and it could even happen if the unit sets not being used for a period of time. Usually disconnecting and reseating a few times will wipe the connection contacts. If you look at the male connector the pins were perhaps a dull grey instead of a clean connection musch like what happens to the battery contacts on your car.

Hey Thomas,
It has been very humid here in Wichita, KS. I have been sprinkled on too. I have installed some plastic sandwich bags around the control housing and the X1 Probe connection so I can collect in the sprinkling conditions. I bet there's been some condensation when I bring the machine outside. The XS is cold from being inside and then it hits that warm humid air. Probably liquid water forms all over it.

Hey C.C.,
