Thanks for the prayers folks. Still no cigs and feeling no desire to have one so far.

and not your weakness.

When you first drive a car, you have to learn to look straight ahead. What happen's when you look to one side or the other? You start to turn that way.

Don't focus on the temptation or whether or not you feel like a cigarette...

Focus on His strength and you'll be going in the right direction.

(just a paraphrase of last week's sermon...) :)

Hang in there my friend. My mom smoked of when she was 16 till Dec of 2004. She is 68 years young :D She had the health problems and stopped then . She has not had one at all for a year. She told me that there are days she wants one by keeps on going and it will go away. :D God will be there, just ask :clapping:

I smoked cigarettes for over 35 years and usually 2 packs a day. I quit, but started smoking cigars for 2 or 3 years. (I inhaled every one of them.) After lots of prayer and help from the patch, I am proud to say that I am now nicotene free for 16 months.

I am also a recovering alcoholic,(probably 2 1/2 years since last sip), but by far, nicotene is the hardest to quit. I still could smoke one as long as my leg, but have accepted that that is just the way it's going to be.

If you haven't tried the 3-step patch, try it. It will CURVE your appetite, but you will still want one. I stayed on the first step for at least 7 or 8 months before going to the second. Each step, I took my time and in all, it took me over a year to be nicotene free. Good luck. You are in my prayers

Lil Brother:)

Mike, God is so good and the deliverer during any temptations of the devil, so keep faith in Him, Who is doing a good work in you and helping you to overcome all things that would do you harm. Satan comes to steal, kill and destroy but Jesus came to save and keep you safe in His protection and provision!

I try to pray this each morning.....most of the time I really ache and feel badly...."Lord, I love you and give you praise! Please help me to overcome and get through this day in Jesus' name! Amen!"

You could ask Him to help you from desiring a cigarette and deliver you from all the drugs, especially nicotine, that it contains! YOU CAN DO IT! DON'T LET SATAN WIN! YOU ARE MORE THAN AN OVERCOMER IN CHRIST JESUS! Jesus can remove all the desire forever by asking and believing that He will!!!

God Bless!
Betty
