THANKS AMC, DAN-PA, TREV, SHOOTER, JIMPUGH, & GMAN FOR YOUR RESPONSES TO MY POST. THIS IS FUN. YOU CAN REALLY STIR UP SOME STUFF WHEN YA START A CONVERSATION ABOUT DETECTORS. I'M NOT NEW TO METAL DETECTING. MY FIRST MACHINE WAS A DOUBLE EAGLE,A HEAVY BIRD. THEN A NAUTILUS, AND LAST THE 1266. I QUIT DETECTING ABOUT 12 YEARS AGO AND WENT BACK TO PLAYING MUSIC (BEACH, SOUL, & ROCKN ROLL) . I HAD NOT PLAYED MUSIC IN ABOUT 10 YEARS . WHEN I WENT BACK TO IT I FOUND THAT KEYBOARD TECHNOLOGY HAD PAST ME BY. I BOUGHT THE BEST I COULD FIND,WITH 2000 DIFFERENT SOUNDS,ETC. BUT ON STAGE THE ONLY ONES THAT COUNTED WERE THE MEAT AND POTATOES ONES - PIANO, B3 ORGAN AND THE OLD FENDER RHODES PIANO SOUNDS. THE REST I COULD DO WITHOUT, AT LEAST FOR THE STYLE OF MUSIC WE WERE PLAYING. I GUESS THATS WHATS HAPPENED HERE WITH ME AND METAL DETECTORS. I THINK I'LL PICK UP A 1270 HERE SHORTLY, LEARN IT LIKE I LEARNED THE 1266 AND LET THAT BE IT. THOSE 2 SHOULD DO THE TRICK. I THINK I'LL PLAY RELIC HUNTING BY EAR LIKE I ALWAYS HAVE.
TALK TO YOU GUYS SOON. THANKS AGAIN

That thing was the BEST sounding electric I ever played and the feel was amazing. A friend had one and he lent it to our band back in the late 70's. I played piano and used the Rhodes and fell in love with it. Wish I could have bought it back then but being a teenager..didn't have the dough.
