Need to chip in here and do our part. Guvner, Freddie and the moderators can not do it all. This has reached a level it's causing problems for all.
Look at the time and effort it is costing the Forum. I repeat..it's time we all did our part to help.

#1. Post, and or report who and when if you are contacted by any known, or unknown persons who appear shady, or have scammed in the past.

#2. Check out who you are dealing with. Know the person before you ship cash, or goods. When in doubt "Don't do the deal"

#3, Post all good transactions . It's important to all. Reputation is everything on this forum.

#4. Prosecute the scammers. I know it will not be easy. In fact it will take time, and effort on all our parts. It can be done. Don't just roll over and write it
off.

#5. If you live near a person who scams others, try and get information on that party. Name Address etc.......... That would be a big help.

#6. Last but certainly not least... If you have been scammed.........Tell us about it. Do not be ashamed. These scammers are good, It's like a job to them.
They make all deals sound so perfect. It's easy to be scammed.........

If we all stick together we can and will stop these people from being successful in their scamming. It will take all of us to do this.

Good Post Elton,
I also might add, even though i'm sure many will disagree. I only will send money via paypal unless it is somebody I really do trust. I completely understand that paypal does not mean you will not be scammed but it puts a powerful comapny in your pocket to investigate fraud. To me it adds a level of security that I think scammers will avoid. They will find it easier to get numb people to send them a money order.

Also on a side note, the adds that want a 3% fee to cover paypal payment is bogus. $9 on a $300 transaction is a small fee for transaction security if you ask me.

Well said Elton

I'd also suggest verifying the name, mailing address, phone number, etc. provided before sending payment or merchandise. You can do this several ways:

Google - You'll often find useful info, such as feedback on other forums.

www.whitepages.com - Do a reverse lookup to see if the contact info provided is accurate.

www.blackbookonline.info - This site contains many different public records such as property, criminal, civil, etc. Most of the searches are free.

I carefully research sellers using all of the above before making any kind of payment. Hope this helps!
