So much has happened lately - mostly with the death of my Dad's wife of 46 years. I finally made it back home but feel there is so much yet to do there and here. The thank you is for the prayers you have given for my Dad and also for me during these trying times.
Though many didn't care much for his wife she brought our family back together. My brother had not been back to Michigan in over 26 years and all but one sister was able to come together to be re-joined. Cousins, uncles, aunts and more were rejoined.
It was the first time that both sons were at our own real Mom's grave together since 1974 when she died. Emotionally we were hit with good times and bad. Physically the same with good and bad. And spiritually - yeah, seemed more bad then good. Joe, when I was awake each morning at about 4 AM it was your ministering music I listened to in the quiet of the night that helped comfort my spirit.
Knowing you all were praying for me and my family was also a comfort. Though the minister really sucked at presenting God's Word the eulogy words I had written I think counter-acted the devil's work.
So it will still take me awhile to get back to 'normal' whatever that is, I just wanted to thank you all for your prayers. Never realized how much this lady is missed even though she was hardly liked by many. I hope in her last hours she returned to the Lord. Only God knows for sure.
That's 2 deaths withing about 6 weeks time - with Sherry's step-dad passing away earlier. Let me tell you this and don't think of it as 'Poor Pete'. We have of course had the funerals and such to contend with. We have had expense after expense trying to get the van repaired - and it still isn't there yet (just cashed in the 401K to get motor mounts - waiting on the money to arrive) - lost time from work with the funerals and lots more. What I am saying is there is ab obvious attack on our family. Why? Well, firstly we are putting God first. Even with a defective vehicle we struggle but attend the church and its functions. The minister - Sunday before last - brought up Internet Pornography and how it ruins families and individual lives. I am working to start a ministry to help those with that problem of sin through the church and as you might well guess Satan doesn't want people to be set free so the attacks have been heavy duty. I've read the end of the Book and he loses - I'm on the Winning team! Praise God.
Well on the home selling front. We were going to take it off the market. Realtor said to leave it so we did. We have had several people come looking - some who wanted it just didn't have the financing. We have 3 showings today. (I'll be at work during all of them). So the economy may be slowed but there is still interest. We're just waiting for God to bring the buyer with the finances that He wants in this house. Sometimem, though I know He knows ahead of time what is going on, I kinda wish we could see ahead too - but then where would 'faith' be if we saw it all ahead of time? Faith is believing then seeing - not seeing then believing.
