Hey Digger I want to thank you. The other day in a post you were taliking about modifing patterns. You said something about "If you want to find only quarters you can do it". Or something to that nature. I normally use pattern 1 and not 2. Well I took your advice. I made pattern 2 a coin hunter. I only left 10,12, 36, 38, 40, &42. All others were notched out. I went to a site that is hard to hunt at best. In about 1 hour I pulled 2.73 outta the dirt. I may even adjust it some more by notching out 10 & 12. I just hate getting rid of all my gold chances.

For a time limited hunt in a hard site I did well. Thanks for the suggestion, Beale.

If you are hunting for US nickels, dimes and quarters, those settings will work for you. Just remember that there are situations where the TID may vary. Adjacent targets, coins on edge, and that "odd" date that reads a bit lower or higher. For example, I've dug IH cents that will read as low as 24 and as high as 32. Just depends on that particular coin. And, half dollars hit a 44 and silver dollars will likely be a 46. So you may want to consider that as well. But for "skimming the cream", the numbers you have selected will produce coins. HH Randy

Beale, I too would like to publicly thank Digger. He goes to great lengths to help people understand the Xterra's. He has my vote as being the best. He is a know-it-all and I mean that in a good way. Thanks for all you do! R.L. Johnson (RLOH)
