TGIF I'm Going Hunting!:thumbdown:

Got home from work a little early so Icould take advantage of the low tide and finally do some hunting this week. Got on my gear and scooted down to the beach to have a look at the conditions. Yes, the sand had moved some over the past week and conditions looked perfect, just a light chop and lots of swirl patterns in the sand to indicate movement.
Put on the headphones and fired up the Excal - - - WAAAH! - - - WAAAH! - - - WAAAH! - - - - - - ZIP! :ranting::rage::rant:
I know I had 3 hours+ of charge left in the battery and it had drained away to nothing over the 5 days since I last took it out. I thought about checking the battery last night but realized there is no way with this antique technology.
I can't wait until my NiMH battery shows up, then I'll gut the pod I have and change that one too.
I'm going for a swim to cool off!

A man can climb a mountain but it is the pebble in his shoe that cripples him not the height of the mountain.

I'm struggling to feel bad for you, (living in Bermuda, near a great beach, etc....) But i'll try.
seriously, charge that wretched thing up and hit the beach, find some good STUFF!!!!!! happy hunting.:beers:

Yeah, I've got to admit it's a beautiful place to live but it's not all peaches and cream either. I sure was looking forward to going detecting though, darn!
Next low tide is 5 am, I'll be ready!
Now it's time for a sundowner with the neighbours and then dinner on the beach at the hotel restaurant.
Okay, okay, it could be much worse.

Cheers All,

BDA:cool:

Hey bda, I plug mine in the night before I plan to go out and it never runs out of juice. It has not seemed to affect the batteries in a negative way. When your unit sits dormant, the batteries will drain, no matter how much charge you think you have left. Try it, I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the results. The only time mine has ever crapped out was when I did not charge the unit the night before I planned to hunt and you know I hunt LONG & HARD! Tenacious Perseverence for Treasure!
