Im new to all this but like it pretty well so far. Dad has several of them tectors & got another one a couple days ago from Fitswilly or Fatizzi or somthing like that. Ever since hes got it hes been dragging 2 or three of the detectors around at the same time & keeps looking at the same spot before he digs a neat little hole in the ground & then either grins or makes an awful face & says bad words..He told me to keep track of what the differences were because Im only 3 & he is way older & forgets stuff somtimes.. He says on coins there is no noticable difference in depth between the new blue one & the old black ones with the xs on em. He said that switching to the 11" white coil on a deep nickel was enough differennce to keep the needle on the big black gauge on the blue one from wagging like my tail to a nice readable number. He tried this on several deep targets with the same results. He sure sweats a lot when he does this stuff. Today we cut up a fishing sinker until the blue one didnt beep no more , then he tried a black tector with little black coil with Seasearch and it made a very slight tone change in all metal only.. Then he put the Seasearch on the blue tector & it made a little better noise than the black tector. The big spoked coil or the solid white one wouldnt beep either .Then he remembered he had a new 5" coil from fitswilly and tried it on the little piece of lead but it wouldnt do nothing on any of the the tectors.. So to some it up , for coins he sees no difference in depth in disc or all metal between the black tectors or the blue one but ocassionally the white plastic thing will find something that wasnt even very deep but by switching from conductive to ferrous and playing with the iron mask setting makes the difference & a coin pops out. He says if he ever wants to find little pieces of fishing sinker he would use the blue tector & the Seasearch . He also says he finds more deep silver with the white plastic tector . When he uses the white one he uses a lot of bad words though,& has a lot of nails in his pocket when were done.. If I wasnt altered, Id chew it all up when he wasnt lookin and save him some agony.
