Testing the Racer 5x10

Low-Boy/LCPM

Active member
I had a great time finding these but have more testing to do with the 5X10 coil...I was in a trashy area and it was hard to lock onto a target. Need more testing to see how deep this coil is. Not as light as I had hoped going to look for some deep targets next week..

Looks like your in a great spot low boy, seated up to newer military button. That badge is a great find..WTG

We just wrapped up a "Welcome-to-Hunt" Outing at three ghost towns in Nevada. The trash level in many spots in those towns is absolutely challenging, of both the operator's patience level as well as the detector/coil performance capability. A few good finds were made by people using a Deus, an MXT Pro, and M6, and an F19, and a few other makes and models were put to work. Overall, however, the Racer's did a splendid job of isolating old coins and 'keepers' in some very nasty iron and non-iron trash. In short, the Racer's performance, with the 5.5X10 DD and especially with the small 'OOR' coil, were eye-openers for both users and viewers.

I think as you put in more time you'll feel more comfortable with the different coils on the Racer. Personally, I seldom use the stock 7X11 because when I want to go to that size coil, I just grab my Nokta FORS CoRe. It's already to go, plus it balances better than the Racer with that size coil. I let my Racers get the job done with the 'OOR' coil, mainly, and the 5.5X10 DD when in less trashy environments.

What type of site(s) did you hunt to get the Indian Head, Seated Liberty quarter and Chauffeur's Badge? Great recoveries!

I hunted an old area where I live almost hunted out but the more trash I dig the more relics I find I think if I had more depth I would incover some more relics

One of the more true statements we could add to these forums.

you could have joined us on this open invitation "Welcome to Hunt Outing." A lot of trashy to deal with, and more iron and non-iron challenges than most folks would even imagine or encounter, but with patience, time and effort, the old good finds are there to be found. Other finds made on the outing have been posted on the Relic /Old Site Forum on the AHRPS site, and I have had other a few have e-mailed me. I'm working on the tally of all the reported finds now.

It's an excellent place to work the 'OOR' coil on either the Racer or FORS CoRe. The excellent performance you are well aware of.
