Testing the E-Trac and F75 on deep coins video

Took the E-Trac and F75 to the city park for some testing on deep coins. Here is the video.

just curious!..was the f-75 (l.t.d.) in (boost) process?,OR (d.e.) process?..
thanks for sharing!..interesting!

The F75 was in JE process Sensitivity at 99 Discrimination at 0.
The E-Trac was in stock Coin program sensitivity in auto +3

On the F75: The numbers would stablize out a bit better if you sweep the coil, some what briskly, shoulder to shoulder width. ( it's in the F75 user manual ). Rather than using the Minelab type sweep. :)

Thanks Bill, I'll give that a try.

The F75 reminded me a lot of the V3i head-to-head. It had no trouble seeing the deep coins just relaying that info back so that the unexperienced user could understand it. Like the V3i, I suspect that in time experience with the F75 would make spotting the signs of a deep coin would become easier.

I like the sensitivity of the F75 compared to the E-Trac as far as smaller targets. The F75 is a great tot lot machine and I would assume a great relic machine, haven't tested it yet, but so far the E-Trac still remains the king of deep coins in my park. You can pretty much spot the signs on the E-Trac user by what they find. Here is a picture of the finds from that hunt at Wright Park. Pretty typical for the E-Trac.

I think what is important to remember here is that this park has been hit HARD. Our club has hunted it hard for more than 15 years, and I've hunted hard for more than 20 years. I used just about every detector possible in this park and cleaned it with what I had. My DFX no longer finds keepers here, my Explorer SE quit giving up keepers here, my MXT, my Tesoros and the rest. The V3i and F75 would find those deep coins, the others wouldn't see a thing you'd call a good signal, but without experience they sounded and looked like the thousands of other garbage signals in a typical 125 year old park. So far I've found the E-Trac to be unmatched in this park environment for deep coins.

it appears that the e-trac gives a more 'solid" audio on all those "hits"
however the f75's audio still sounded good enough to dig!
just my take!

Without a doubt the F75 signaled on every target, the difference was the E-Trac had a more reliable VDI.

yes!..generally the f-75's (v.d.i) would be jumpy,is the main reason why
the 'audio" trumps the video in "most" hunting scenarios.i definitely "trust" the
audio over the video because of the "inconsistent" lock of the f-75 in video, especially
at depth!....just sayin!

The F-75 is Impressive but the E track was far more confidant, and from the other vidio it looks like theiar is some better performance using the 10x12 SEF coil maybe those s.e.f coil s are not just a gimmick

the SEF coils are no gimmick, Ive used them on my etrac/explorer and on my sovs.

its always best to really know how to use both machines to make accurate comparisons. Not saying one of these two detectors is better than the other, but to be fair optimum settings and proper use equals a fairer comparison. both machines would have benefited from tighter sweeps and if you wanna see even better results put the etrac in quickmask with just a touch of disc and the F75 in all metal motion. Ive yet to see a detector that performs better in disc mode compared to its all metal mode.

thanks for the video southwind! if I remember right you have had some great results with a DFX as well.
