Testing out the NEL 5x10 tonight in test garden

Okay, I just don't know what on earth to make of this. I have many different coils for my Explorer SE Pro. I have a 9 inch deep penny in my coin garden buried a few months ago.
After work, I put on the 5x10 Nel sharpshooter coil and went over that 9" penny and was simply amazed. Not only was it hitting really good, but I could raise the coil three or four
inches above the ground until I started to lose it. At three inches it was hitting just good enough that I would have dug that coin in a field. I did have gain and sens maxed out but it was still pretty stable.

Now here's the kicker: I also have the Pro coil of course and the 13" Ultimate coil. These coils just barely hit the penny with the coil flush to the ground. What's up with that?
I always thought the smaller coil would only get about 6 to 7 inches deep and the bigger coils 12 to 15 inches deep.

Anyone got a thought on this?

My guess is you were able to max out sensitivity where you cant with the other coils and thats the difference.

I could probably hit a 12" dime with that NEL. I just had no idea they could go to deep.

I have a NEL Sharpshooter on my Teknetics T2 and I see no reason to take it off! I love the depth, the weight and how balanced it is on the T2. I read a post from Digger27 and he seems to have about the same opinion you have, simply amazed! He is using it on a Fisher F70. This coil seems to work well on many different models of metal detectors.
