Testing Deus with settings learned in bootcamp and, as Gomer Pyle would say: suprise

First I did my settings correctly, tested in coin garden okay, went south of the coin garden about 10 or so feet and snagged this little guy :)

I can't believe how many detectors I've gone over this small area over many years with many different detectors and never snagged it.

Nice snag...

So what settings were responsible for that?

Wow, nice going!

This area is littered with wires, nails and whatever else the farer just wanted to toss. It surely wasn't a perfect signal. Maybe that's why I never heard it with my other detectors due to nulling?

Congrats Tony, glad to see yesterday worked out for you.

It's certainly a work in progress. Andy taught us things at least I never knew concerning the Deus. It was well worth the time and money to go to the boot camp.

I went to a park today and met up with two other detectorists with different detectors.
After a while the one guy showed me his bottle caps he dug up. It looked like He had dug at least 50 bottle caps. I chuckled and said, If you had a Deus you would know what to do to not dig those.
I explained to him a little about the checks involved to determine if it's a bottle cap. I dug up one because I stupidly forgot to make my checks. It's a learning process.

just my experience that we need to dig some caps or we are missing some coins , and I don't mean all caps I mean some.

just my experience.

it seems like the Deus is working out for you do you like it better than the Explorer SE?

I haven't reach the level of expertise with the Deus yet to make that judgement call. I'm sure both will always have a place in my tool box.
