Picked up the NEL Hunter coil for my AT-Pro from a forum sponsor here.
Have to admit that the build quality is excellent, comes with a free coil cover, and the cord is heavy duty and includes end caps to keep dirt out and prevent pin damage when the coil is off the machine.
I went to an old SF Bay Area park that's been pounded to death as gold coins and a lot of mid 1800's seateds have been found at this old 1860's park in the past, and thought it would be a good place to test (rumor has it someone tried to strip mine it in AM mode).
Only had a couple of hours to hunt, but found the coil to be really good. It was quite responsive to small conductors, and very stable. Pinpointing was easy. Only complaint might be that it's a tad heavy, but then again what 12.5" x 8.5" coil isn't?
I managed to find enough conductors to tell me that the park isn't as cleaned out as one could be led to believe, including a 1902 Indian in beautiful shape as far as a dug coin goes Also a few pistol balls, and the usual suspects. This park had a shooting range, so that explains the shells and pistol balls
I really purchased the coil for fresh water lake hunting, but won't get to try that until this upcoming weekend.
Happy hunting,
Brian
