Went to an old sports field with no power lines around and was able to run the machine with high sensitivity in every mode without any problem. Then I hunted a lot where some houses have been torn down. A lot of trash in the ground and huge power lines on two sides of it. The increase in chatter was minimal and could have been due to the amount of trash in the ground. Still had stable operation. Found a silver quarter right under the power lines. Went to one more site in a different town with just about the same scenario. Stable operation. Bagged a silver ring and a wheat penny. Also found nine nickels.
The only thing that I am confused about is that I cannot use it in my own backyard where my test garden is. The thing just goes nuts. All power lines are buried and about fifty feet away. Might have to call the power company and see if they will shut the power off to the neighborhood for an hour or two.
This machine starts to grow on you after awhile. A little bit of practice with some coins scattered on some trashy ground really helped in figuring out how this thing operates. Thats it.
