Tested a couple F75 concentric coils tonight on the SE....

First I tested the small eliptical coil for the F75/F70. That was a no go.....would not detect a dime at 3 inches at full sensitivity. Coils works fine on the F75...well last time i had one.

Next I tried the 10" concentric coil. That actually worked just fine. Coil was stable, I could ground balance just fine and target id was dead on as compared to the stock 5". Air tests gave depth/distance that was greater than the 5" ( on a dime, indian head and button) but slightly less distance than the 11" DD...although not by much..maybe a half an inch.

Although not sure if the 10 concentric is needed over the 11" accept when you want a bigger coil and more depth over the 5" but the 11" is unavailable. The other use may be that it should not struggle as much with bottlecaps as it is a concentric whereas, in theory, the DD's have issues with round iron objects.....supposedly.

So I would assume that when i tested the F75 DD coils originally, back in February,I may have had a machine that had the GB cal set wrong but never knew it...not sure though but I know that they would not GB.

So I may try an SEF coil now.....hope it works as I need a bigger coil for hunted fields.
