Dang,
Heres some more shots of that boat you like...its just 3/8 ply and epoxy, bout 20' long... my beater boat I use for everything...I'd like to build a 24' version of this, and hang twin 15's off of it! all lumberyard material, dimension spruce 1X6 and 7 sheets of ply..very simple to make, stich and glue, material cost about 600 bucks. I built this one in 96 and take very poor care of it, but it has held up well even wintering outside. I want to someday head across the big lake to milwaukee in it, on a nice peaceful night, its only 60 miles, straight west, just puttin' along should be there just as the sun comes up...dink around all day, definitely sweep a beach or two, and head back home with following seas as the wind comes up, or wait until it flattens down, and go back across at night..

Yep Jim, all my own designs..usually the mixture of other styles and such...building with no plans, just a general idea of what I want, and about halfway through the construction, the boat turns itself into something I didn't expect, and way much better than what I wanted in the first place...thats a salmon caught off of muskegon jigging a spoon vertical...its really a great way of getting a fight. That fridge was hauled outta the river during a clean up day...gotta great big freezer too, and tons of other stuff..

I've never attempted a boat tho....................yet.

Actually I am building a row boat. Been working on it for a little while now.
My wife wont let me work on it during any meal though. She says that
she needs the dinning table. (Why did we buy those TV trays?)
I thought this woud help familiarize myself on how a boat is put together.
I aslo picked up a book by boat builder, Gavin Atkin, titled " Ultrasimple
Boatbuilding"
17 plywood boats anyone can build. I built a shed in my
back yard to make room in my one car garage for building a boat....but as
most men know, space in a garage is a invitation for the little lady to
fill in with something else. Right now it's cabinets she wants me to
install in the kitchen.
But anyway here's the boat I'm building!!!

Hey...those are some great looking boats. I built a few myself...........for the wee little people. I made the boats from pics. No plains just guess work. TomB

Cool boats Dang and TomB! Thats how it starts...I have a little model boat my greatgrandfather made, it was his "demo" model. He would carry it around to resorts, and sell them full size version of it for their rowboat fleet, yup, before outboards were built, folks had to row, pole, or sail..it looks a lot like that one TomB made...same color too...in many ways its more difficult to build a small boat than a big one..the hardest being kayaks! Dont let anyone fool you, for some reason, they are tough! a full size 16' like your models is one weekend for the hull, and another few to fit out the decking, seats, and make the oars...nice shots fellers!

ROFLMAS AT MUDPUPPY...I sure hope it ant serious. I'm like you what the h... is NCIS? TomB

You guys don't watch much TV do you. Neither do I.
N.C.I.S.
Naval Crime Intellegence Service or something like that. Its a great TV series. The Head guy is a boat lover.
For relaxation he works on his boat...In HIS BASEMENT!

There is a new Series out called N.C.I.S. LOS ANGELES but I don't like it as much as the original. Check out
your TV Guide. Watch it on a rain day. Otherwise....get yourself outside and MD!
