Test on raw gold. Totally unscientific.

Do you know how hard it is to measure and swing? I have gold that I paned in the wilds of NC. and I wanted to see how the F-70 did on detecting it. I got a nugget and weighed it. It came to .4 grams.

I set the F-70 : dis mode, speed de, sen. 80, thres. 5 and it picked it up at 4". Only id good at 3".

I got 5" on the autotune mode. Id good at 4". When I changed to slow speed I couldn't control it. The id on both modes was 16 -20. Babies started crying, test ended! My wife was out shopping for the night and I was watching the grand kids.

If some one will send me a larger nugget, I would love to test it for depth.
Or some one could see how gold checks out on their detector.:detecting:

I was out MD'ing the other day and this groundhog was playing peek-a-boo.
