Test garden questions

Tennessee

New member
Ok I know this will sound dumb ...but I have owned and been hunting with a MXT around 6 years now. I finally broke down and made a test garden this afternoon..Something strange happened though..The VDI's are off

My question is if the test garden is new will the VDI numbers read very different I'm getting a reading of in the negatives on one bullet and the rest are just bouncing all around..at first i thought it was the D@ coil seeing how haven't used it that much So i changed it out to the super 12 and same thing just stronger reading. Do you think something might be wrong with my machine ???

Just a friendly reminder

Coins that are freshly buried will not respond like a naturaly buried coin. When the soil is removed and coin placed at the bottom of hole it disturbs the ground matrix, kinda like trying to see through shattered winshield. It has something to do with the alingnment of poitive and negative charge of soil particles that are disturbed when you dig a hole, remove soil and rebury the coin:shrug:

Do a search on this site; there's plenty of info to be had. Basically, you need to wait a long, long time to get anything approximating real life conditions, as much as a couple of years or more. I planted a test garden a few months ago and got the same results as you; I was thinking my MXT sucked! On the positive side, it made me appreciate the value of sound over numbers.

LOL Water the garden. It helps settle the dirt and gets rid of air pockets. I have had my test garden 26 years. It looks like a real world target now. I have added several things to it over the years and each time I water it well for a few weeks. and that will help a lot.
