Tesoro's vs. Fisher Gold Bug 2

Thanks for the link bendorfold,

That inspired me to test my metal detectors.
I was very surprised by the results.

Hey Tabdog
Thanks for the info I've been kicking it around about buying a gold machine. it sounds like the tesoro lobo will do the job. we plan wintering this year in AZ. looking for gold. well anyway it should be fun. Thanks again. I was shocked by my air test.

The Fisher Gold Bug 2 is a deticated gold machine that sells for over
$700. Total cost of my three Tesoro's is $570. They are just regular
metal detectors.

Does that guy that wrote the article know what he is talking about?

Can my three Tesoro's really out perform the Fisher?

You read the article. I did not cheat. I did the test honestly.

They did not give many details in the article.

Can someone tell me what gives?

HH,

Nice post - and interesting to say the least.:beers:
Sure makes the decision to add another Tesoro easier (here I go again).

The Euro has great trash handling capabilities. It has a killer ED-180 and a Iron ID feature that does
help a lot in IDing. I don't discriminate if I can help it. So the iron ID helps ID the lower conductors. It
can help see the difference between low conductors. Trick is to listen to what it tells you. You can
switch between "Iron blank" and "Iron Audio" or switch it off easy. Also switch to All Metal all in mid
swing. It has more ability to discriminate than my other two. It is deeper than the other two. It is
more versatile than the other two. Not as deep as Vaquero, but has better eyes.

It is my first pick for relic hunting. It can do it all. Does well in harsh conditions. Can do it all. Well almost.

The Bandido II uMax is a little better I think. Those are in the upper crust until you go H.O.T. technology.
But some things were lost in the jump to H.O.T. and other things gained. It's a matter of likes and dislikes,
as well as your hunting needs.

For pure detecting bliss, I like using the simpler Silver and Compadre. I just love them. I'm glad I have an
awesome machine like the Euro, even though I enjoy the simpler ones more. But when the chips are down,
the Euro is an exceptional performer. Good to have in my corner:)

HH,

Nuggets are typically found in veyr mineralized soil conditions and if you were able to test machines under those conditions your results would be much different. Tesoro mahcines do hit very well on gold while airtesting, as do many machines, but the trick is hit them well in mineralized soil. Gold machines by design are geared to cancelling the affects of mineralization.
