Tesoros vlf water machine

For those that use one of tesoro the vlf water machine, would you say it has as much punch as a vaquero! Trying to find a water machine for this summer. I have had a Fisher 1280x and at pro.....once I bought a sand shark and it looked like it leaked and had to return it.....it was all green inside......so I still have yet to try one....I'm just wondering if its proformance is comparable to the vaquero. Thanks

Tesoro's are my favorite machines but I use CZ-20/21's for water hunting. They are good in both fresh and salt water and that is very important to me.
As you will notice in my signature below I also use a Tesoro Sand Shark pulse. I use it in salt water.
I've owned and used a Tesoro Stingray 2 water machine. GReat machine that I regret having sold to trade up to the Tiger Shark. A lot of people really like the Tiger Shark but I did not click with it.

The sand Shark is excellent on salt beaches and in the water.
The Vaquero is VLF and is more sensitive to small jewellery than the SS. The Vaquero has discrimination will not go as deep as the SS over wet salty sand and in the water. They are two very different metal detectors.
For the beach I would chose the Sand shark over the Vaquero

Currently Tesoro produces only one VLF water machine and that is the Tiger Shark. I have never used a Vaquero but from what I've read about them (hot circuitry) I don't think the Tiger would have that much punch.? I remember when I first started using my Tiger it took me a bit to get use to the audio pitches but in short time "it clicked" with me and I was good to go. When I do get the time to water hunt I usually prefer freshwater lakes and my Tiger gets good depth here in my mild soil conditions. I have used my Tiger in the Gulf of Mexico (briefly) and it would perform but it was "chirpy" at times with some depth loss and this is what a lot of saltwater hunters don't care for. Again I primarily hunt freshwater and the Tiger is hard to beat with its discrimination, ground cancelling and ability to hit small targets! If you are primarily a saltwater hunter you may need to do some research on what works best for your area as far as a VLF versus a PI machine. Best of luck to you and HH!

If I remember correctly James Gifford told me years ago the Tiger Shark is base on the Bandido 2 Micro Max.
