Tesoro Warranty

Hello

I want to thank everyone who took time to reply. I have bought a used Tesoro Deleon and I feel very confident that Tesoro will take care of me just as they have their other customers. Thanks for your words of encouragement and wisdom. Have a great day and may you not have to dig to deep for your treasures!

tesoro's warranty is for the original owner but I have never heard of them not repairing one of their machines no matter how many owners it went through and they have done the work as if it was the original owner.

I dont think i have ever heard anybody have problems getting a Tesoro repaired even in many cases not being the original owner. To have a company in this day and age honor their product warranty beyond original says alot to me!Thumbs up to Tosoro!!! just my thoughts!

Let me clarify something here. I do not know if Tesoro will honor its warranty or not. I was just trying to let anyone know who is thinking about buying a used detector to take the warranty situation into consideration. When I called Tesoro to ask about this they seemed very nice and very helpful. If I have a problem I am sure they would be fair with me when it came to getting the machine fixed. They simply told me the warranty was not transferable and I am only trying to let others who are thinking about buying a detector from anyone to think about things like this. I have heard nothing but good things from Tesoro users about customer service it was one of the main reasons I chose to buy one. Thank you everyone for being so helpful. I cannot get over how nice everyone in the community has been!! Thank you thank you thank you.

Tesoro is the only manufacturer that has continuosly had a life time warranty. They claim it is not transferable, but as previously noted, they rarely (if ever) decline to repair a problem no matter how many users have owned it. It is actually a "good" reason to buy a Tesoro, even a used one.

I am so glad to see you replied to this post. I have seen your name all over the forum and I am honored that you would reply! I agree with what you said which is the MAIN reason I chose a Tesoro. I just wanted to let others know to consider ALL aspects of buying used. I got so excited and I just wanted a detctor that I missed a few things when doing research. The last detector I owned was in 1986, it was a hip mount unit with three dials and one flip switch. Cannot remember who made it but it didn't have any discrimation and I had to dig everything! Anything would be an improvement over that!! I am so excited to be getting back into metal detecting I cannot even begin to describe it. Again thank you so much for replying to my message and have a great day!!!

Several companies that allow the waranty to be tranferred have one or two year warranties at best and certainly no company that offers a lifetime warranty will have a transfer clause. I think your asking too much. Having said that Tesoro is very liberal with repairs for second owners and has treated me very well with info and minor repairs over the years so be glad you bought a Tesoro...

I purchased a used Tesoro Bandido II about two and a half years ago off of ebay. Well, it didn't work very well. I called and talked to the tech at Tesoro and they suggested to send it in for repair. so I did. I was not the original owner and they still fixed it for FREE!!! All I paid for was shipping to the factory and that's it. They even sent some advice (hand written), on settings and other things for that model. I couldn't have been more impressed with their service and commitment to their products and costumers, and I hope that this puts you at ease with your purchase. Happy hunting and welcome to the Tessoro family!!

It sure does. I have talked to several people now all with the same story. From everything I am hearing Tesoro is a GREAT company! I haven't heard one horror story yet.

Mastereagle22: Regardless of warrenty to original owner Tesoro has a long history of fixing their detectors, for free even though you may not be the original owner. Tesoro backs their detectors 100% HH Steve

I have a couple Tesoro Stingray underwater detectors. I wrote to Tesoro and asked how much it would cost to check these units out. I wanted to make sure they were in working order before 'water detecting season' got here.

I was told there would be no charge to check them over but if anything needed to be fixed there would be a charge for the parts. I haven't sent them in yet. Thinking of selling one of them. Guess the warranty is excellent on those other Tesoros (I have an Eldorado - never used outside of the detecting shop I bought it from) but maybe the Stingray is a different animal??
