I went back this morning to a virgin site that I have just recently found. I've posted about it in another forum. It's about the size of two tennis courts. So far in 3 hunts I've found 13 silver coins, 1 silver ring and around 65 wheat pennies. There's more to be found there but I'm going to give it a rest for awhile. I started off this morning swinging the F75SE and found a 1941 Mercury Dime and a few Wheat Pennies. Then I picked up the AT Pro and found a few more Wheat Pennies. This one small section of the site has been pounded. I've gone over it several times with different detectors and coils. I decided to pull out the Vaquero with the 9 x 8 coil to see how it would fair. It nailed a bunch of really deep nickels including a 1944 silver War Nickel, an unidentified coin and some wheat pennies. Some of them were around 8 inches deep. Towards the end of the hunt I got sweet soft tone and dug a really old silver ring. It's stamped 900 and is kind of small but it's hefty. I really enjoyed swinging the Vaquero today. The total count for the Wheat Pennies today is 18. Oh, I almost forgot, one of the Wheat Pennies was coated a silver substance.

INCREDIBLE HUNT!!! Good to try the other detectors and see what each is capable of. Was that a park/picnic area?

Nice finds! The unknown coin looks to be a copper Mexican 1 centavo coin - 1875-1881.

Thanks. I wasn't expecting to find one of those where I detecting.

Tabman could find coins with dousing rods or willow sticks! No fancy display, no batteries.

Thanks guys, but I couldn't find a single silver coin if it wasn't there to be found. Location, Location, Location.

I spend a lot of time looking for new places to detect.
