I arrived at the site just before daybreak and met up with a new found friend. I guess he was wondering if I could see as good as he could. I started out with the Outlaw and the EMI caused me to put it back in the car. I then pull out the Compadre and it went crazy as well, so I put it back in the car. Next I tried the Vaquero with the 5.75 inch concentric coil and it handled the EMI fairly well. Hombre suggested for me to use a concentric coil for the bad EMI and Rusty Henry is the one who convinced me that a the 5.75 inch coil is the best accessory coil I could get for the Vaquero and "it would easily pay for itself". So, I guess I need to thank them for my success that I had today. I ended up finding a 1944 War Nickel, a 1920 Mercury Dime, a few clad coins, and a bunch of Wheat Pennies (1929, 1936, 1942, 1919, 1940 and a key date 1915 D) I only detected for a couple of hours or so before calling it day. This is a great location to find some really good stuff. It won't be long before I find something super nice.
I was using my normal settings, I had the discrimination set where a Gatorade Sports Drink Foil Cap just discriminates out, a slight hum on the threshold, a little negative on the GB and full sensitivity.
I just love my Tesoro detectors.
