Tesoro Vaquero information

I have an opportunity to pick up a Vaquero (which I did).
After I did the deal, I read on one of the forums, that this particular detector is not so good for silver (coins).

does anyone have experience with this and could it be true?
Thanks

Paul(MA)

I just got a new Vaquero for Christmas as a gift from my Wonderful wife. I had a chance to try it out yesterday. Along with some dropped bullets and some modern coins I found 2 half dimes which it responded to very well and both were at least 8" deep. My Vaquero will air test a half dime around 10". That is the first time I have used mine but from what I see it is hot on silver.

The V is great on silver and copper and nickles and gold right on down to the smallish stuff. I have an early Canadian silver dollar and it will nail it at 15-16" inches in air no worries. I have a silver quarter in the ground in my yard at 6", it can't miss it.

...would be to add the Golden's tone ID. USE your Vaquero and stop listening to hype and propoganda...make your own mind up for your hunting style.

This machine is fantastic on both silver and brass. It leaves many high priced detectors in the dust especially old house sites and cellar holes....this machine is the best. Research my name in authors and you will see some of the finds I have made with both the Vaquero and Cibola. This combination cannot be beaten as they are truly the best in iron....In My Opinion...

No not true! The Vaquero is great on silver and gold. My wife has a Cibola and it will find silver comparable with $1000. detectors. I heard the same thing about my MXT, due to the higher frequency it would be weak in silver, again not true. Have fun with the Vaquero it's a great detector and the quaility is tops in my book.
