Tesoro Vaquero Brings Home The Silver:detecting:

I had short hunt today, but it turned out pretty good though. I was hunting at an old school. I first had the discrimination set at just where pull tabs were breaking up, because the area I was hunting was loaded with trash. I finally turned the discrimination down to the mark just below nickel when I moved to a less trashy area. I kept the sensitivity and threshold both set at the 3 o'clock position. Finding the silver half dollar got my heart to pounding. It was only about 3 or 4 inch deep and I almost didn't dig, because I thought it was just another crushed coke can. After I found the half dollar I was digging every good beep.:)

I ordered a 5.75 concentric coil for my Vaquero from Rusty. It should be here in a day or two. He claims it will pay for itself. I'm sure it will shine at this trashy location.

Excellent my friend! I just picked up a lower rod for my 5.75 Wide Scan - love that coil. Let us know how the concentric works.

Will do. The Wide Scan will cover more ground faster and work better in bad soil, but the Concentric will pinpoint better and faster. Also the Concentric should be a little deeper.

Yeah finding a Walker is exciting. It seems like an impossible task. People didn't lose many of those back then. Heck even today finding a modern half is hard to do. I've only found a couple of them. So yeah, I was shocked to see the that Walker pop out the ground.

All the charms ,except for one, were found in a 100 square foot area. I knew after finding the second one to expand the search area, because apparently some girl's charm bracelet broke. It paid off.

What more can you say about the Vaguero, great keepers Tabman! HHH.

I have to ask, are you in Mississippi? Odd to find a couple of Colonel Reb charms in the same hunt (University of Mississippi - Ole Miss Rebels Real Mascot) Nice finds!

Tab,

Awesome finds. What a great day. So you were riding the disc up a bit, ahhh . I do that sometimes when it's so trashy. Great day.

No I'm from Germantown, it's a small town that is adjacent to Memphis. On that particular hunt I was hunting in the Memphis area, but that's not too far from Ole Miss. I'm assuming that the hog charm is the mascot for the Arkansas Razorbacks.
