Tesoro tigershark question

Mr B

New member
Has tesoro ever offered a wide scan coil for the tigershark? It seems that a wide scan would make the tigershark better in salt water without hurting it in freshwater. I currently use a dual field for salt but thought a wide scan tigershark might give a little more flexibility. Any thoughts?

Tesoro says that the Tiger Shark is based on the Bandito platform, the widescan coil should work except, how do you maintain the 200 foot depth rating? Probably a mute point as my Tiger Shark coil is hardwired to the machine. I will also say that there's not that much difference in my Tejon reading ground minerals between the stock concentric coil and the various widescan coils I have, I don't think changing the coil on the Tiger Shark would make much difference.

I asked Tesoro to hardwire one of their new 11 x 9 DD coils from the factory for me and they told me the machine would have to be tuned to the new coil, which they were not prepared to do, also would not give any kind of depth rating for it... too bad
