Tesoro Tejon :tesoro::usaflag: Working The Curbs :detecting:

It rained last night! I guess my Genie not only has brought me some good luck, but some badly needed rain as well. A little too much, I got mud all over me today. Right off, I got a choppy weak signal. After doing that 'simple test' yesterday I decided to dig this iffy signal. I'm glad that I did, out pops a Standing Liberty Quarter. It's kind of well worn from lots of use, but it's silver.:) Later on while working behind another stretch of curbs, I got a strong signal that told me that the target wasn't very deep. I flipped over the sod and saw part of a necklace. I slowed down and carefully removed it from all the roots. It's marked 14K and looks good, but I'm not buying.

I used my normal settings. The discrimination was set where a Gatorade sports drink foil cap just discriminates out.

On another note, I think that I like the 8 inch doughnut coil on the Tejon more than I do the Sharpshooter coil. However, I seem to like the Sharpshooter better on the Cibola and Vaquero than I do the 8 inch doughnut coil. I need to do more testing.:detecting:

As usual Tabman, nice finds! Do you ever get any grief from house owners when you are hunting curbs in front of their houses?

I usually try to stay away from residential neighborhoods, especially the ones that have well manicured yards.

Everyone should take some time to do some scouting. It pays off for me.

Good grief Tabman there must be a whole gold mine in that necklace. Great find and the silver quarter also mighty nice find. Thanks for sharing.....Z

What makes you think its not gold? I found a gold plated necklace a couple of weeks ago. I took several pictures to show it off . I thought it was the real .But after looking at it under magnification I could see where the plate had chipped off.

I don't know, it's just a gut feeling. It looks real even under magnification. It ID's where it is suppose to, around the pull tab range. It weighs 23 grams and that would put the scrap gold value at around $568. I may need to get it checked out by a jeweler.:)
