We got a little rain and I decided to head back to the ole virgin site to see what I could dig up. I started out with the Tejon with the 8 x 9 inch coil and right off I found a 1934 Buffalo Nickel that was around 7 inches deep. All the Wheat Pennies that I dug today at this site were 7 to 8 inches deep. Some of those Wheat Pennies were just barely detectable. With the Tejon deep targets are hard for me to tell if it's iron trying to discriminate out or it's a deep good target. I need more practice with it. I switch over to the Cibola with the 9 x 8 inch coil and was able to find some deep Wheat Pennies as well, but still no silver. I decided to check out a site that I found this week when I was coming back for the doctor's office. I pulled out the Cibola and hit the grassy area between the curb and sidewalk. I found a couple of Wheat Pennies that were only few inches deep. I knew there had to be a silver coin hiding somewhere. I crossed the street to hunt the grassy strip in front of a very old mansion. There was a ornate concrete step-up consisting of 2 steps at the curb so people could get into a carriage or upon a horse easily. I found a couple of Wheat Pennies near the step-up. Right in the middle of the grassy area I got a sweet audio tone and dug down just a few inches and popped out 1906-S Barber Dime. It was getting late so I headed for home. I'll go back there!
