Tesoro Stingray II

Hello,

Just got a Stingray II, either it doesn't work or else the volume is turned way down. Does anybody know which one of the pots in the housning controls the volume? There are 2 pots on one board closest to the side of the housing and 1 on the second board. Any help would be appreciated.

The guy I bought it from said it worked but the volume was really low. I'll say it is low, non existing is more like it.

It's been a few years but I contacted Tesoro and they sent me a manual. Every time I have ever had any contact with Tesoro they were just the model of customer service and I mean that sincerely.

Now, with the control panel off and the battery compartment to your right:

threshold is top knob on left
Volume is bottom knob on left
Sensitivity is knob on right.

Assuming you got yours to use diving you may also want to get a couple of extra O-rings and some silicon grease (I like the food grade.) I have noticed that even w/o the grease the O-ring has a tendency to accumulate sand when beach hunting and one grain in an O-ring can cause problems at depth..

It is a little tricky to get working in the wet salty sand and surf but I have found stuff there. My major complaint with the machine is having to open it up to get to some of the controls i.e. volume, sensitivity, and threshold.

Hope this helps
John
