Tesoro Silver Sabre uMax

I have a Tesoro Silver Sabre uMax on it's way to me. I have had two Silver uMax's over the years and loved them. Never had the older model (Silver Sabre) and wanted to try one. Read some posts & one guy says the new Silver uMax's are better & deeper than the older Silver Sabre's. Another guy says that the Silver Sabre is deeper and more sensitive to smaller stuff. Whats the real scoop, I am guessing that they are both good detectors after all they are Tesoro's. Steve.

Thanks Tinfoil, I had a Sidewinder uMax not long ago & liked it. I know what you mean about the sweet sound. Steve.

I've never had the chance to use a Silver Umax, let alone compare one against a Silver Sabre umax, but I have 2 SSumax detectors that have served very well here in parks etc. and have been excellent for the wife and I in competition hunts. I modified one with a toggle switch in place of the pinpoint in order to be able to run continually in all metal if desired, and I like that combination as it lets me set the disc. where I want it and quickly see if a target discriminates out or not while hunting in all metal. All told, I've been very satisfied with the SSumax detectors and although I have several higher end detectors, the SSumaxes will have their place in my arsenal for some time to come. I'm sure you'll do well with yours.
