Tesoro Silver hits my 1st oldie 1888S Seated liberty dime / Stronghold Steve button

I was in a heavilly hunted park. Many rusty nails near the dime (along with a modern dime). But truth be told a mole helped me out. It was on the surface at the base of a tree in a debris pile left by what was probably a gopher. It is in incredible condition.
The modern dime was 3" deep & dated 1996. 3 rusty nails & a shred of tincan in the immediate area probably kept it from the other detectors. This park is pretty heavily hunted.Once I got home I made a quick cover so I wouldn't wear it out looking at it.

Earlier I found this old button. It had seperated due to rust but I found both pieces still together in the dirt. Once again it was in an area with a lot of trash signals. I know there is part of a cast Iron stove down there for example.

The only thing I found on the internet was a old shop mural in SF Ca. It is the same character. I'd assume its actually rarer than the dime I found.

All in all a good day for sure.

A seated coin is a nice find for sure. Around here the gophers dig holes but they don't want to pay up.

Never under estimate the Silver

We have a lot of these critters around here. Moles mostly. I have wondered if they come across a burried coin or whatever-what would the critter do other than push it out with the tailings.

This time it was definitely pushed out. Sitting sideways in a fesh pile of dirt-edge just peekin out.

This one will be my good luck token. It's not worth a lot & my 1st real old find.

The reason I know there is a stove down there BTW is I found a lid with mfr logo. It dates to 1890's. Later the area was used as a shooting range! The backside is littered like a carpet with lead/copper bullets. Lots of brass in the ground-found a "live" misfire-primer had been struck but bullet intact. I left that outside in my garage to deal with later.

Back to the Silver u-max. I went real slow on the areas with a lot of trash & you could hear the solid targets in the junk.

I am learning the language & its the soft tones I'm trying to get better with. Most coins up top just scream. But in trash areas it does a good job of telling you exactly what it sees. It's up to me to figure out what it's saying.

I bought it for the lightweight & depth. I have another machine that does ID,depth etc...It can be killer in the right area. But I have barely touched it for weeks now. The Silver has me more confident in digging a good target.

I'm saving for a smaller (5 1/2?) coil. Any input while we are at it?.

Thanks!
