Tesoro should make a Compadre with a threshold all metal.

To be able to toggle to all metal on a Compadre ; now I would pay a few extra bucks for that. :) Someone should put a bug in their ear.

Compadre is in all metal when you turn it on without adding disc. Granted no Threshold, but why should they take away sales from models that do have that by changing a machine that is popular anyway?
My two bits.

I was thinking they could sell it for a premium over the regular Compadre. Maybe call it a Compadre plus?

Get yourself a used Silver Sabre II in good condition and you'll have not only a threshold adjustment but also a sensitivity control to boot.

Yes I am with you , a threshold all metal with a nice ground balance but expect to pay 400.00 and to boot I wish they made one at 7.5 kHz

A number of the umax series has threshold based all metal - Conquistador, Eldorado, Bandido series etc. and can be found in good, used condition for reasonable prices.
