Tesoro Service

Is it just me or has Tesor's service gone to the dogs? The last two times I've sent in machines for repairs they were not covered under warrany despite having been bought new and the registrations sent in. This time it seems they keep misplacing my payment info and this time they acre charging for shipping it back to Canada.

Add in the fact that I have ended up making my own rods for the last two machines I bought from them because the stock ones wobbled terribly and I am getting pretty fed up despite the fact I have been a long time Tesoro fan.

When this one breaks I may consider other brands. Pity, they really are/were an excellent machine.

yes its gone to the dogs :poke:

not what it was 3 years ago that's when I had my last dealings with them maybe 4 years ago.

sent a coil in no word for over a month now.

I think the answer is when something blows up just toss it in the bin salvage all usable parts and that's the end of it.

so my thoughts now are if one blows up toss it get another one, that is the answer they want us to have :sadwalk:

but hey they are cheap enough but I think we have a definitive answer Tesoro's are now not under any warranty :bouncy: at least we know right.

thanks for sharing your experience and well if not in the US don't worry about warranty because there is none !!

the reality is I like the under dog the battlers !

but they are a small company and they are trying to keep up with the big dogs in town and that's small business suicide.

they went off half cocked about bringing out new detectors a few years ago and are under all sorts of pressure to come through.

as seen by the last time their rep visited the forum he was on melt down.

a fast way to go broke is not to have a realistic business plan and not bite off more than they can chew so big dog they will never be and they probably would have been better off making one new detector every 5 years and live off the back of their customer service, a small company has to have the best customer service to stay alive even if their product is not the "best" people continue to buy new items if the customer service is they best.

what they have done is started to alienate their loyal customers and that is small business suicide!

I wish them well but they are headed down the wrong track and its a fast slippery slope.

who ever is running the show has big dog envy.

stick to what you are good at Tesoro not what you would like to be good at !!

i hope that they can still be good with the son in charge now. like i said, 9 out of 10 times when the founder of a good company retires or passes on and the children take it over. it just does not last. seems they forget about the hard work side of it and focus on getting rich fast instead of making a good living like the founder did. it happens all the time in every business. i agree with amberjack's post. you cannot let down your loyal customers who have made the business what it is, that will make future ones uninterested in your product. when a new customer will ask, i see you use a tesoro, how do you like it? and the answer is, well they use to be a great company that made a top notch detector. but they dont do this and stopped doing that. i will not get another one. that new customer will go with another brand. i do wish them luck and hope they can get it together. this whole cazador has been a big let down for most and they just seem to be ignoring it.
