Tesoro Sandshark or Garrett Seahunter

Dig

Active member
Im curious if any of you PI pro's out there have experience using both of these? Is one deeper than another? I tell you PI shopping is one of the hardest things I have done. There are so many mixed feelings about different units. Some love certain units and wouldn't suggest anything else while still some other very experienced detectorists hate the same machine. It boggles the mind! I just want to be sure that if I am gonna be busting my hump digging iron that I am getting the max depth possible.

of those two id go with the Seahunter only because you still cant buy the water proof connector for the Tesoro's if they go bad. and the Sand Shark is no longer being made..myself id go with the Whites Duel Field PI.

Sandshark is back in April but you have to choose the coil size as they are all going to be hardwired on.

I'd put the Tesoro before the Garrett if they don't muck something up on the new version but the better value is the Whites DF.

n/t

Well Dig , I went with the Garrett Sea Hunter Cozz I wanted a All terrain PI see i Hunt the Fresh also in Descret , But at the Beach i go regular mode with 0 Disc,
But i don`t know on the Depth??? Can someone jump in that knows, Mickfin

I like the Sea Hunter and Infinium LS hands down. Great depth, works great in Salt and fresh. Hard to beat the Mono coils.

I had the Dual Field and was very disappointed with all around performance and depth in west coast salt beaches.

I just went to a white's dealer yesterday and he told me that he doesn't carry the DF because it has trouble with the beaches here in central california!!? I was amazed. Whites is a great brand but I think Garrett takes the prize here with the ability to go ANYWHERE! 'Nough said :garrett::wiggle: IMO go with the SeaHunter.

i know this is late, but i have both and the seahunter airtests on my big gold ring at 13", very definite beep at 12". The Tesoro cannot match that.

I agree that the Sea Hunter II is the best choice. Very high build quality, and it goes deeeep, everywhere.

I love my SH, ithas been easy to use and pinpoints well in the water. Deep... ? Oh yea real deep, prepare to dig! Use standard mode only and 0 disc.

I have a SH and my hunting bud has a SS...I tried his in the surf and did not like the bouyant coil and the fact that the coil is solid and the surf action as a tendency to move it around....the SH is so easy to use...0 dis. and slight hum in the headphones and
you are on your way....It is very deeeeeeeep and loves gold and pull tabs...dig it all..
