Tesoro Sand Shark..... Worth the money?

Lookig to purchase a underwatwer metel detector. Any comments on the Sand Shark ?

Sand Shark is made by a very reliable company and warranted by them.
It is not known for being the deepest seeking PI, but is a strong performer.

One good splash, while wading could destroy your Pioneer 505.
One afternoon with a Sand Shark, going where most others may not go, could pay for it.

I'd like to have one!

All the Tesoro water uints are rugged and well designed for their chosen environment. You can hardly hurt them if you follw the directions to the letter. That is in their favor.

I would caution you, though, to be aware that the SS is a PI unit and does not DISC iron. It beeps on everything, including rusty nails, nuts and bolts, fishooks, bobbypins, sparkler wires, rusted out pocket knives, bottle caps - well, you get the idea. If you dont mind, then it wont.

I would prefer a PI detector for salt water surf and shallow diving. From all the research I've done. I think it will suit my needs better than a VLF-stlye detector.

Good enough, then. Decision made. You are unlikely to go wrong with the instrument itself. Good luck.
