Tesoro Sand or Tiger Shark?

I'm looking to get my first water machine and I'd like to stick with Tesoro. I belive the Sand Shark would be better for all the salt water that I would be hunting in, but what is everyone else's opinion. I know they are both out of production right now, and I can only find used Tiger Sharks. I would appreciate and facts and opinions about the two. Thanks
Ben

Both are "currently out of production* according to their website. I contacted them a month or so ago and asked what plans they had for starting up again and was told they didn't have a restart date at that time. It wasn't clear if they ever planned to make them again or not.

The tiger shark does not fair to go in wet salt sand, but is killer in fresh water or dry sand hunting........The sand Shark would do much better in wet salt sand type hunting

I've been leaning toward the Sand Shark since I will be in the saltwater mostly. Which would perform better on dry sand? Thanks

PI's normally do not do good on dry sand unless your beach is very clean

I think Pensacola's beaches would be considered "clean." Are you refering to the black sand? I shouldn't have to worry about that in Florida. So, if I get the Sand Shark, which would perform better the Shark or Cibola?

Black sand will not bother the Sand Shark. It performs great in water and on Dry sand. The other poster Rob, refferring to "clean" means (i am assuming here) the beach is relatively free of trash metal debris. Because with the sandshark you cannot discriminate so you will be digging all targets which is time consuming and inefficient. However, as you learn your machine, you will become good at differentiating the tone for iron objects and can, if you want, discriminate "manually" by the tone you hear. I still prefer to dig all and have become fairly good at determining when something is iron. Not so easy with bottle caps and such.

I do my "best" detecting with my sand shark at a highly mineralized beach here in San Diego. I use the larger accessory coil available (10 or 11 inch I believe).
