Tesoro pinpoint button

Can someone explain how this works? Does pressing it make the coil pin point in the center for object location? Very interested in a tesoro product as I like the tone ideas. Scott

That can't be said for many other brands. I don't have to use the pinpoint buttons on my Tesoros.

Some people use it for added info because it's close to an all metal search mode...it can help size a target etc, but u can also do this while Xing.

I don't use mine a lot on the Cibola. I can generally X it accurately enough to dig it. BUT...on faint signals I sometimes use it to try to get a repeatable signal with it. For me it sometimes helps as it seems more sensitive.

Pinpoint is simply a momentary switch to All-Metal. I never use the pinpoint button to pinpoint an object, however its very handy to check your GB and your Threshold.

It can help do this yes. If you have the option to manually retune you can get it to the point where it is a faint blip in the center of the coil. AM mode can also help determine if the target has an iron component. Most Tesoro units will let you X over the target and get it dead on anyway if you swing slowly enough.

Tesoros are really nice machines well designed and a really good warranty deal.

Good luck.
